The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps soot from your exhaust and normally burns it off during driving. Lots of short trips around town stop that from happening. The filter clogs up, the DPF warning light comes on, and the car can lose power or go into limp mode.
We start with diagnostics, because a blocked DPF is often a symptom of another fault, such as a sensor, EGR or boost problem. Once we know the cause, we clean the filter, run a forced regeneration and check the readings again to confirm it's working properly. Your filter stays on the car, and your vehicle stays road-legal.

Advice on keeping your DPF healthy
What are the signs of a blocked DPF?
A DPF or engine warning light, loss of power, limp mode, or the car regenerating more often than usual.
Is cleaning cheaper than replacing the DPF?
In most cases, yes. A clean is usually far cheaper than a new filter, and we'll tell you honestly if yours is beyond cleaning.
Do you remove DPFs?
No. Removing a DPF from a road car is illegal in the UK and causes an MOT failure. We clean and restore the filter instead.
